Chris has worked for various churches including the Baptist (IFCA and American), Covenant, Presbyterian and Independent Bible Churches. He has served as music director for Youth For Christ in Kalamazoo and taught on the music faculty at Western Conservative Baptist Theological Seminary, Multinomah School of Bible and Music and Warner Pacific College; all in the Portland, Oregon area.

Chris also works as a free-lance music composer, arranger, and producer. His more recent projects include The Oregon Symphony’s 1998 Christmas Concert; The Oregon Children’s Chorus and Youth Choir performance at Carnegie Hall, New York; “The Strayaways” a musical premier this May at Concordia College. Calvary Church’s TV theme; Korean Christian music artist Sang Woo Kim; and The Fair Haven Dixieland Praise Band’s CD - “Horns of Praise - Hymns of Joy.” The Dixieland Praise Band and The Horns of Power under the direction of Chris Hansen can be heard in local churches throughout the West Michigan area.
